The ODI and Away Kit designs launched this year are inspired by the young new generation of India and the fearless spirit of the national teams. Nike India, the official apparel sponsor of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), released pictures of the new kit on Friday.
BCCI revealed the jersey on their official Twitter account by posting a photo of the jersey with a caption: “Presenting #TeamIndia’s Away Jersey What do you make of this one guys? #TeamIndia #CWC19.” Legspinner Yuzvendra Chahal posted his look in the away jersey. “Ready to rumble in new jersey,” he tweeted. Mohammad Shami took to Twitter and said he is ready for the next match. The paceman shared the backside of the jersey while standing next to opener KL Rahul.
A second jersey is required by India as part of ICC’s new ruling which requires the team that has been drawn away to wear a different colored jersey to the team that has been drawn at home. “Also the design (orange) is taken from India’s old T20 jersey which had orange in it. The designers who are sitting in USA designed this jersey from something that already existed and not something completely new that fans don’t identify with,” the source added.
