Riverside Ground, England’s most northerly ground, the home of Durham Cricket, will host three fixtures at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019. Home to Durham County Cricket Club, the first noteworthy match was played between Durham and the visiting New Zealanders in 1992. The match venue, Chester-le-Street, which is approximately six miles from Durham. Train services are better in Durham as compared to Chester-le-Street.
Home of the Durham County Cricket Club, it houses 19,000 spectators during international matches and 5,000 for domestic matches. It will be hosting three matches in the tournament. At the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, Durham will host three fixtures, including England v New Zealand and it will be the home for two Sri Lanka games. The highest World Cup total at the home of Durham Cricket is 261/6, which was scored by Pakistan on their way to victory against Scotland in 1999.
